Symptom
A patient's Admitted Status in Dazos continues to show In Treatment even though a discharge has been recorded in Alleva EMR. The discharge date may appear further down in the Dazos record, but the Admitted Status field at the top of the chart does not reflect the change.
Common Causes
There are two main reasons discharge updates from Alleva may not reflect in Dazos:
No new Intake Opportunity was created before readmission. If a patient was readmitted directly in Alleva EMR without first creating a new Intake Opportunity in Dazos CRM, the sync will not work correctly. Native Alleva readmission capabilities in Dazos are still in development.
Alleva Discharge Type mapping is incomplete or missing. Dazos uses a mapped list of discharge types from Alleva to recognize and process discharges. If the discharge type used in Alleva is not mapped in Dazos, the CRM will not receive or reflect the discharge update.
Solution
Issue 1: Patient Was Readmitted Without a New Opportunity in Dazos
If a patient has been readmitted via Alleva EMR without a corresponding new Intake Opportunity in Dazos, follow this process:
Create a new Intake Opportunity in Dazos CRM for the patient's readmission.
Manually link the patient to their re-admission record in Alleva EMR.
Going forward, always create the new Intake Opportunity in Dazos before processing a readmission in Alleva.
⚠️ Note: Native readmission sync between Alleva and Dazos is still in development. Until this feature is available, the manual process above is required to ensure correct status updates.
Issue 2: Alleva Discharge Type Mapping Is Not Configured
If a patient has only had one stay and their discharge is still not updating in Dazos, the issue may be that the discharge type used in Alleva is not mapped in the CRM.
Compile a complete list of all discharge types your team uses in Alleva EMR.
Ensure the discharge type names are spelled exactly as they appear in Alleva (capitalization and spacing must match).
Send this list to Dazos Support so the discharge types can be properly mapped in your CRM configuration.
Once mapping is complete, Dazos Support will test the sync using your patient records to confirm discharge updates are reflecting correctly.
💡 Tip: Even minor spelling differences between Alleva discharge type names and what is mapped in Dazos will prevent the discharge from syncing. Always copy discharge type names directly from Alleva.
Expected Result
Once the correct process is followed and discharge type mapping is properly configured, the Admitted Status field in Dazos will update to reflect the patient's discharged state when a discharge is recorded in Alleva EMR.
Escalation
Contact Dazos Support if:
You have followed the correct readmission process but the Admitted Status is still not updating.
You need assistance setting up or reviewing Alleva Discharge Type mapping for your location.
Multiple patient records are affected and you need bulk review or correction.
You are unsure whether a patient's issue is caused by readmission sync or discharge type mapping.
✅ When contacting support, provide the patient record link(s) from Dazos and a list of the discharge types used in Alleva (spelled exactly as they appear in the EMR). This will help the team investigate and configure mapping quickly.
