Overview
The VOB Type field in Dazos CRM is intentionally locked and cannot be edited, customized, or assigned a default value. This is a system-level design decision, not a configuration restriction that can be changed through settings.
If you notice the VOB Type field appears greyed out in your CRM instance, this is expected behavior.
Key Concepts
VOB Type is read-only: The field is locked and cannot be edited by users or administrators.
No default value can be set: It is not possible to configure "Instant VOB" or any other value as a default for this field.
The field reflects reality: The VOB Type field is automatically populated based on the type of VOB that was actually processed — for example, Instant VOB or a standard VOB.
How It Works
When a VOB is run, the system automatically records the VOB type that was used to process that verification. The VOB Type field is then populated with the accurate, system-determined value for that specific VOB record.
Because the purpose of this field is to accurately reflect how the VOB was processed, allowing users to manually set or pre-fill a default value would cause the field to display information that does not match what actually occurred. This would undermine the field's core function of maintaining accurate records.
Important Notes
⚠️ Important: This behavior is by design and will not change: A feature request to allow default values for the VOB Type field was reviewed by the Dazos product team and denied. The decision is final — the field must remain locked to ensure it always reflects the true VOB type that was run.
