1. How to read a popup
Title at the top, with an X on the right to close.
The main action is the blue button at the bottom right: it names what will happen (Save, Send, Delete).
Cancel is the plain text button next to it.
Actions that cannot be undone, such as Delete, are red. In a full form they sit at the bottom left, away from Save.
A confirmation: Cancel on the left, the red Delete button names the action.
2. Messages
Messages that used to appear in the browser's own grey box now appear inside the CRM, in the same style. Close them with the Close button, the X, or the Esc key.
A message after an action.
3. Forms in a popup
Long forms scroll inside the popup. The title and the buttons stay in view, so Save is always reachable.
Forms with more than six fields use two columns on a wider popup; long fields (notes, addresses) use the full width.
Clicking outside a form no longer closes it by accident. If you typed something and close the form, the CRM asks whether to keep editing or discard.
Add Contacts on an account.
Adding an insurance policy: two columns on a wider popup.
Quick Create Event: fields in two columns, one blue Save button.
4. Choosing a record from inside a form
When a form needs a record (for example the related account), the record list opens on top of the form, slightly narrower and lower, so both titles stay visible. Esc or Cancel closes only the list; nothing you typed in the form is lost.
The record list opened over the Quick Create form.
5. Signatures
The signature popup is wide, with the drawing area in the middle.
Sign stays disabled until you have drawn a signature (or entered your 4-digit PIN when saved signatures are on). The reason is shown next to the button.
Clear (bottom left) empties the drawing area before signing. It never deletes a saved signature. The consent line above the buttons is always visible when you sign.
Opening a signed form shows a Signed badge, the signature and who signed it and when. Use Done to close.
Signing a form.
A signed form.
6. Convert Lead
The Convert Lead popup follows the same layout: the sections scroll inside the popup and Save stays at the bottom right.
Convert Lead.
7. Dark theme and phones
With the dark theme on, popups switch to dark colours. On a phone, every popup opens full-screen and the buttons stack, main action on top.
Unsaved changes in the dark theme.
A confirmation on a phone.
8. Keyboard
Key | What it does |
Esc | Closes the top popup, the same as the X. Inside a date picker or a dropdown, Esc closes that first. |
Tab | Moves between the fields and buttons of the popup only, never to the page behind it. |
Enter | In a single text prompt, confirms it. |
When a popup closes, the cursor returns to the button or field that opened it. CRM-3935
