Custom modules built in Module Builder can now use any icon from the full CRM icon library (about 1,800 icons, including animals, finance, medical and many more). A search box finds icons by name or by what they mean, and the icon of an existing module can be changed at any time without recreating the module.

1. Before You Start
You will need:
A CRM Administrator account (the Module Builder screens are available to administrators only).
At least one custom module, or the details of the one you are about to create.
Access requirements: Module Builder lives under Settings → Module Management → Module Builder. Standard CRM modules (Leads, Contacts, Organizations and so on) keep their built-in icons and are not changed here.
If you do not see Module Builder in your Settings menu, contact Dazos support to confirm your account has administrator access.
2. Choose an Icon While Creating a Module
From the CRM, navigate to Settings → Module Management → Module Builder and click Create New Module. The first step of the wizard shows the module identity fields and, below them, the Sidebar Icon library.
Control | Purpose |
Search icons | Type a word to filter the library as you type. |
Icon grid | Click any icon to select it. The grid scrolls; the counter above it shows how many icons match. |
Selected | Shows the icon you chose and its name. |
1. Type a word in the search box or scroll the grid.
2. Click the icon you want. The Selected line updates immediately.
3. Continue the wizard as usual and create the module.
Tip: Every new module starts with the default puzzle icon. A short note under the grid reminds you that you can keep it or pick one that better represents the module. Keeping the default is fine.
3. Search the Icon Library
The search matches icon names and the words that describe them. For example, typing dog shows the dog icon together with related icons such as paw print and bone.
Descriptive words work too: money finds the dollar sign, invoice finds receipts and bills, hospital finds medical icons. When you click an icon, the selection line shows it with its name.
If nothing matches what you typed, the picker tells you so. Clear the search box to see the whole library again.
Tip: Icon names use hyphens (for example dollar-sign ), but you can type them with spaces ( dollar sign ) and they are still found.
4. Change the Icon of an Existing Module
Navigate to Settings → Module Management → Module Builder. Each custom module row now shows its current icon next to the module name, and an Edit Icon button among the actions.
1. Click Edit Icon on the module you want to change. A window opens with the same searchable library, with the module's current icon already highlighted.
2. Search or scroll, then click the new icon. The Selected line shows your choice.
3. Click Save Icon. The row updates right away and a confirmation message appears. 4. Click Cancel or the × to close the window without saving.
Control | Purpose |
Edit Icon | Opens the icon window for that module. |
Save Icon | Stores the new icon for the module. |
Cancel | Closes the window; the module keeps its current icon. |
Important: Hidden modules can have their icon changed too. Modules marked "Needs cleanup" cannot until they are repaired or removed.
5. Where the Icon Appears
After you save, the new icon shows everywhere the module is represented:
Place | What you see |
Left navigation | The module's menu entry shows the icon. |
Related tabs | On a record that is related to the module, the related tab shows the icon next to the module name and count. |
Quick Create menu | The + menu in the top bar shows the icon next to the module's create option. |
The change takes effect on the next page load. Other users see the new icon the next time they open or refresh a page; nobody loses any data.
6. Frequently Asked Questions
Q: Can I change the icon of a standard module such as Leads or Contacts? No. This applies to custom modules created in Module Builder only. Standard modules keep their built-in icons.
Q: Two of my modules use the same icon. Is that a problem? No. Each module keeps its icon independently; changing one does not affect the other.
Q: The icon library shows "Icon library could not be loaded". What now? Click Try again. If it keeps failing, reload the page. The module keeps its current icon until you successfully save a new one.
Q: Can I rename a module at the same time? No. Module names are fixed once the module is created. Only the icon can be changed after creation.
Q: I copied a module to another instance. Does changing the icon here change it there? No. Each instance keeps its own icon for the copied module.
Q: Can I browse icons by category? Not yet. Use the search box: words such as animal , money , medical or calendar bring up the related icons.
