Troubleshooting a 500 Error When Saving an iCampaign Event (iCampaign)

Overview This guide helps you recover from a 500 error that appears when saving an iCampaign event and get the Events module working again.

Problem

When saving an iCampaign event — typically at the final step of the event builder — a 500 error appears. After this occurs, clicking the Events button may continue to return the same 500 error, making the Events module temporarily inaccessible.

Possible Causes

  • A temporary server connection issue interrupted the save request.

  • One or more required fields in Step 1 (Event Details) were cleared during the event-building process, causing the save to fail.

Solution

  1. Use your browser's back button to navigate back into the event you were building. This should allow you to re-enter the event without encountering the 500 error.

  2. Check Step 1 (Event Details) carefully. Verify that all fields are still populated — in some cases, these fields may have been cleared unexpectedly during the session.

  3. Re-enter any missing details in Step 1 and any other steps where information may be missing.

  4. Attempt to save the event again. If the save is successful, the Events module should return to normal.

  5. If the 500 error recurs, try the following additional steps:

    • Reload the page.

    • Clear your browser's cookies and cache.

    • Recreate the event steps from the beginning.
