What this does
Emergency contacts live in the Related Contacts section of an Account. Until now you had to open the Intake Opportunity, then the Account, then scroll to that section.
Every row on the Intake Opportunities, Accounts and Leads lists now has a people icon. Click it and a panel opens with all of that record's related contacts. Emergency contacts come first, in their own red-accented section, so the person to call is always at the top.
Before you start
The Related Contacts feature must be enabled for your instance. It is wherever the Related Contacts section shows on an Account.
You see exactly what you would see by opening the Account yourself. If you may not open it, you get a "Permission denied" message instead of the panel.
1. Find the icon on the list
On every row, between the Quick View magnifier and the star, there is a people icon. You can also reach it with the Tab key and press Enter.
The same icon is on the Accounts and Leads lists:
2. Read the panel
The top of the panel shows the Account's name, how many contacts it has and how many of them are emergency contacts. Emergency contacts are listed first with a red Emergency contact tag; everyone else follows under Other related contacts. Each
card shows the relationship, the phone numbers, the e-mail addresses, the location, and any extra fields your instance added to Related Contacts.
3. Only the emergency contacts
Click Emergency at the top of the panel to hide everyone else. Click All to bring them back.
4. Find one contact quickly
When a record has more than four related contacts, a filter box appears. Type part of a name, a relationship, an e-mail address or a phone number.
5. Call or copy
Click a phone number to call it. With the CRM softphone open, the number goes to its dial pad, just like a phone number on the list.
Click the copy icon at the end of a phone or e-mail line to copy it. The icon turns into a green check.
Good to know
The panel is read-only. Manage contacts opens the record's Related Contacts tab, where contacts are added, edited or deleted.
A yellow notice means no contact on the record is marked as an emergency contact. Mark one with "Is Emergency Contact? = Yes" on the record and it moves to the top.
An Intake Opportunity not linked to an Account yet says so. Contacts saved directly on an Intake Opportunity also appear, tagged Intake Opportunity.
Contacts load only when you click, so the list itself is not slower.
