Our Google Ads integration enables the recording of Offline Conversions in your Google Ads account using the GCLID of each Lead/Opportunity so that you can track conversions for your Google Ads campaigns based on different actions in your CRM like an opportunity being created or an opportunity’s Sales Stage changing.
Steps to Set Up Google Ads Integration:
GCLID: First, ensure that the Google Click ID (GCLID) field is coming into your Dazos CRM (from CallTrackingMetrics/CallRail integrations), and carrying through to the Intake Opportunity on lead conversion. The GCLID field must be properly configured and be getting fed into your CRM in order for the Google Ads integration to work. Only leads generated by your Google Ads campaigns will contain a GCLID.
Navigate to Google Ads Settings:
In your CRM, Go to Settings → CRM Settings → Integration → Google Ads Settings.
Enable Google Ads:
Click to check-mark the Enabled setting, then click on the Continue with Google button to start the Google oAuth process.
Log in to your Google Ads account and approve the access to the account.
Select Google customer ID:
Once your oAuth process is complete, the system will pull all of the Google Ads accounts associated with the account you logged in with, and present them to you in a picklist for selection. Each account is represented by its Google Ads Customer ID. Select the customer ID associated with the Google Ads account you want to record conversions on.
If you are unsure which customer ID to choose, sign in to your actual Google Ads account and you will be presented with a screen to select which Google Ads account to log into it, along with their customer ID numbers. These are the same customer ID numbers that the Dazos CRM is asking you to select from, so you simply need to select the customer ID pertaining to the Google Ads account that you want to connect to your CRM.
Pull your Conversion Actions:
Click on the Pull conversion actions button in order to pull the conversion actions from your Google Ads account.
Please note that conversion actions are required and must be pre-configured in your Google Ads account in order to use the Dazos Google Ads integration. If you have no conversion actions in your Google Ads account, the CRM will tell you that No Conversion Actions were found and you cannot proceed until you add your conversion actions to Google Ads. Follow step 6 below to configure your conversion actions. If your Conversion Actions are already configured, skip step 6 and go straight to step 7 below.
Configuring your Conversion Actions in Google Ads:
Conversion Actions are done in the Goals area of Google ads. Typically, a marketing agency or your PPC manager or vendor would set the Conversion Actions up based on how you and they want conversions to be tracked. For example, you could create 3 conversion actions, and this is what Dazos typically sees:
A conversion action for Lead Converted - this will tell you when a click from a Google Ad has resulted in an Opportunity being created in your CRM.
Another one for Opportunity Approved - this will tell you when a click from a Google Ad has resulted in an Opportunity being marked as Approved in your CRM.
Another one for Opportunity Admitted - this will tell you when a click from a Google Ad has resulted in an Opportunity being marked as Admitted in your CRM.
Start by navigating inside your Google Ads account to the Goals section of the left-side menu:
Click on the blue + Create conversion action button on the right side of the screen.
Select the 4th and final box: “Import” for your new conversion action:
Select the following settings: CRMs, files, or other data sources->Track conversions from clicks, and under Data Source: Skip this step and set up a data source later, as shown below:
Turn On enhaced conversions for leads:
Select your Conversion goal and name, as shown below as an example for the first Lead Converted conversion action we are adding:
Repeat Steps 2-7 for the other Conversion Actions you want to track.
Select the Conversion Actions to take on Sales Stage changes:
Once you click on Pull Conversion Actions and your conversion actions from Google pull, you will be presented with a screen where you can select which conversion action to trigger, based on:
Each Sales Stage change
An Opportunity being created (or lead conversion)
Go through each Sales Stage that you want to trigger a conversion for, checkmark it, and on the right side, enter an Amount (i.e. $1 is recommended in most cases since dollar amounts are typically unknown), and then select which Conversion Action you want to trigger for that sales stage change.
The last checkbox on the page will be for “Opportunity is Created”, which will trigger on Opportunity Creation or Lead Conversion:
Once you select the sales stages and conversion actions you want to trigger, click on Save. Your CRM is now successfully integrated with your Google Ads account, and will start triggering Offline Conversions on sales stage changes and opportunity creations for any opportunities that have a GCLID in it, according to the settings you selected on this screen.
