Google Ads Integration: What Data Can Be Tracked (CRM)

Overview The Google Ads integration in Dazos has specific limitations on what data can be captured. Understanding these limitations helps set proper expectations for conversion tracking and attribution.

What Google Ads Integration Captures

The Google Ads integration captures only the Google Click ID (GCLID) for conversion tracking and attribution. The GCLID is a unique identifier that Google Ads uses to track conversions back to specific ad clicks and campaigns.

What Cannot Be Tracked?

The Google Ads integration cannot accept or track:

  • Keywords β€” individual search terms that triggered ads

  • Website clicks β€” general website interaction data

  • Other click information β€” any data beyond the GCLID

How Conversion Tracking Works

The integration sends conversion data back to Google Ads when specific events occur in Dazos (such as when an opportunity is created). Only the GCLID can be used to properly attribute these conversions back to your Google Ads campaigns.

Tips & Notes

πŸ’‘ Tip: GCLID-based tracking is the standard method for Google Ads conversion attribution β€” your conversion tracking will still work effectively with GCLID data alone.

⚠️ Note: These are limitations of the Google Ads platform itself, not Dazos. GCLID is the only identifier Google Ads supports for external conversion attribution.Related Resources
