Troubleshooting VOB Submission Failures Due to Hidden Practice Type Field (CRM)

This troubleshooting guide helps you resolve VOB (Verification of Benefits) submission failures that occur when the Practice Type field has been hidden via field properties.

Symptom/Error

Your VOB submissions are failing or not working, even though the VOB feature was previously functioning correctly.

Common signs include:

  • VOBs are not submitting when you click the submit button

  • VOB status remaining incomplete or pending

  • No confirmation or processing of VOB requests

Root Cause

The Practice Type field is required for VOB submission to function properly. If this field has been hidden using field properties, VOB submissions will fail.

⚠️ Important: While the Practice Type field cannot be deleted, it can be accidentally hidden, which breaks the VOB functionality.

Solution

Follow these steps to restore the Practice Type field and fix VOB submissions:

  1. Navigate to field management:
    Go to Settings → CRM Settings → Module Management → Module Layouts & Fields

  2. Select the appropriate module:
    Choose the module where the Practice Type field should be visible (typically the VOB or Patient Information module)

  3. Check for hidden fields:
    Look for a "View Hidden Fields" button in each block/section

  4. Locate the Practice Type field:
    Click "View Hidden Fields" to see if the Practice Type field is listed as hidden


  5. Reactivate the field:
    Select the Practice Type field and click "Reactivate" to make it visible again

  6. Verify the fix:
    Test VOB submission functionality to confirm it's working properly

Expected Result After Fix

Once the Practice Type field is restored:

  • The Practice Type field will be visible in your forms

  • VOB submissions will process successfully

  • Any incomplete VOBs should now be able to submit properly
