How to Build Reports for Events and Tasks in (CRM)

This guide explains how to create reports that include Events and Tasks from your CRM, even though these aren't directly selectable as Primary Modules in the report builder.

Before You Begin

Make sure you're working in Dazos CRM (not IQ) and that your Events and Tasks are properly linked to other modules like Leads, Accounts, or Contacts.

Understanding the Calendar Module

Events and Tasks are stored in the Calendar module in Dazos CRM. However, the Calendar module cannot be selected as a Primary Module when building reports.

⚠️ Important: The Primary Module determines what each row in your report represents, and not every module can serve as a Primary Module.

Steps to Build Reports with Events and Tasks

  1. Identify the Related Module: Determine which module your Events and Tasks are tied to (such as Leads, Accounts, or Contacts).

  2. Select the Related Module as Primary: When building your report, choose the related module (like Leads or Accounts) as your Primary Module instead of trying to select Calendar/Events directly.

  3. Add Calendar as Related Module: In the report builder, add the Calendar module as a Related Module to pull in Event and Task data.

  4. Select Event/Task Fields: Choose the specific Event and Task fields you need from the Calendar module's related fields.

  5. Configure Filters: Set up any necessary filters to focus on specific types of Events or Tasks (like Business Development Events).

Expected Result

Your report will show rows based on your Primary Module (Leads, Accounts, etc.) with related Event and Task information displayed in additional columns.

πŸ’‘ Pro Tip

If you need a report where each row represents an individual Event or Task, consider exporting the data and manipulating it in a spreadsheet application, as this limitation is built into the CRM's reporting structure.
