How to Restore CTM Lead Source Mapping After System Updates (CRM)

Overview

This guide helps you restore custom CTM Lead Source and Campaign Source field mappings that have reverted to defaults after system updates, causing leads to show "Campaign" instead of actual source values.

Before You Begin

  • You must have Administrator access to your Dazos CRM instance

  • Your CTM integration must be active and connected

  • Identify which leads are showing "Campaign" in the Lead Source field instead of the actual source

Steps

1. Navigate to CTM Integration Settings

Go to Settings → CRM Settings → Integrations → CTM → Map Calling Fields

2. Add the Lead Source Override

In the field mapping section, add a new override:

  • Lead Field: "Lead Source"

  • CTM Field: source

This tells CTM to map the actual source data (like "RINGCENTRAL", "sobriety.ca employment", etc.) to the Lead Source field instead of using the default "Campaign" value.

3. Optional: Add Campaign Source Override

For better organization, you can also add:

  • Lead Field: "Campaign Source"

  • CTM Field: tracking_label

4. Save and Test the Configuration

Click Save to apply the new mapping configuration.

Navigate to CTM Integration Settings, then use the Test Connection button to verify that the mapping is working correctly.

5. Test with a New Call

Have a test call come through CTM and verify that the Lead Source field now shows the actual source value instead of "Campaign".

Verification / Expected Result

After completing these steps:

  • New leads from CTM will show the actual source in the Lead Source field

  • The Campaign Source field will contain the tracking label information

  • No more leads will show "Campaign" as the Lead Source value

Fixing Existing Affected Leads

For leads created since the system update that are showing "Campaign" in the Lead Source field:

⚠️ Note: This step should only be performed by administrators or with technical support assistance.

Update existing leads using this logic: Set Lead Source = Campaign Source where Lead Source = "Campaign" AND Campaign Source IS NOT NULL.

This will restore the correct source attribution for leads that were affected by the mapping reset.

Troubleshooting / Common Errors

  • Mapping not saving: Verify you have Administrator permissions and the CTM integration is active

  • Still showing "Campaign": Wait a few minutes for the configuration to take effect, then test with a fresh call

  • Integration stops working: Use the Test Connection button to verify the connection is still active

💡 Prevention Tip

After system updates, always check your CTM field mappings to ensure custom overrides have been preserved. This is especially important for Lead Source and Campaign Source field mappings.
