Update Workflow Button Inactive - Incomplete Occurrence Settings (iCampaign)

This guide helps resolve issues when the 'Update Workflow' button in iCampaign is inactive or unresponsive, preventing you from saving workflow changes.

Symptom/Error

The 'Update Workflow' button appears grayed out or unclickable when attempting to save changes to an iCampaign workflow. No error message appears - the button simply remains inactive.

Cause

For scheduled workflows in iCampaign, the system requires all fields in the 'Occurrence' section to be filled out before allowing the workflow to be saved. Missing any occurrence configuration details will prevent the Update Workflow button from becoming active.

Solution

To resolve this issue, complete all required fields in the Occurrence section:

  1. Navigate to the Occurrence section at the bottom of your workflow configuration page.

  2. Fill in 'Run rule every' - Enter the frequency (e.g., 1 day, 1 week, 30 days).

  3. Set 'Time of the Occurrence' - Select the specific time of day when emails should be sent.

  4. Choose 'Days of the week' - Select which days the rule should be active (e.g., Monday through Friday, or all days).

  5. Save your changes - Once all three occurrence fields are completed, the 'Update Workflow' button should become active.

⚠️ Note: All three occurrence fields must be filled out completely, even if you're changing the workflow from a limited number of occurrences to "Never ends."

Expected Result

After completing all occurrence settings, the 'Update Workflow' button will become clickable and allow you to save your workflow changes successfully.
