Symptom/Error
When importing Location data in the Billing CRM, you receive an error message stating:
"(Organization Name) not exist!"
This error can occur even when using the sample file provided directly from the CRM system.
Cause
This error occurs because the CRM cannot find the parent Organization records to link the Location to. The Location import requires an existing Organization record to establish the proper relationship between the Location and its parent organization.
Solution
Follow these steps to resolve the import error:
Step 1: Verify Organization Exists
Confirm that the Organization referenced in your CSV file already exists in the CRM system. The Organization must be created before importing Locations that reference it.
Step 2: Check Exact Name Matching
Ensure the Organization name in your CSV file matches the existing Organization record exactly. This includes:
Correct spelling
Proper spacing
Exact punctuation
Matching capitalization
Step 3: Enable Missing Organization Creation
If your import includes new Organizations that don't exist yet:
Navigate to the final step of the Import Wizard
Enable the checkbox: "Create missing Referral Sources, Referral Source Contacts & Campaign Sources."
Complete the import process
💡 Note: This checkbox only creates the Organization name. You'll need to add additional details to the Organization record later.
Expected Result
After following these steps, your Location import should complete successfully without the "not exist!" error. The Locations will be properly linked to their parent Organization records.
