How bedboard availability works with discharge dates (CRM)

In Dazos CRM Bedboards, beds become available for booking once a patient's discharge date has passed. You can also reserve beds for future patients even when the current occupant has a future discharge date.

Before You Begin

  • You need access to the CRM Bedboards module

  • Navigate to Admissions → Bedboards → Graph View

How Bed Availability Works

Bedboard availability follows these rules:

  • Past discharge dates: Beds become available for booking once the occupant's discharge date has passed

  • Future discharge dates: Beds can be reserved for new patients even if the current occupant has a future expected discharge date

  • Booking flexibility: The system allows overlap booking when discharge dates are confirmed

Booking Beds with Discharge Dates

  1. Go to Admissions → Bedboards → Graph View

  2. Locate the bed you want to book

  3. Check if the current occupant has a discharge date (past or future)

  4. Click Book to reserve the bed for a new patient

  5. Complete the booking process for your new patient

Expected Result

You can successfully book beds that:

  • Are currently occupied by patients with past discharge dates

  • Are occupied by patients with future discharge dates

  • Allow for planned patient transitions and bed management

Important Notes

💡 Tip: This booking flexibility helps with planning patient transitions and maximizing bed utilization.

✅ Best Practice: Confirm discharge dates with clinical staff before making new bookings to ensure smooth patient transitions.
