With one click, you can switch between pending work and the record's completed task and event history — no need to leave the page or open the full Activities sub module to check what's already been done.

1. Before You Start
You will need:
A CRM user account with access to the Activities (Calendar) module.
Permission to view the record (Lead, Referral Source / Account, Intake Opportunity, Contact, or any module that already shows the right-side Activities panel).
Access requirements: This feature is available to anyone who can already see the Activities panel on the right side of a record. There is no separate role, feature flag, or settings page to enable — once your instance has the update, the toggle appears automatically.
If you don't see the tabs after opening a record, refresh the page once. If they still don't appear, your browser may be caching an older version of the panel — try a full reload (Ctrl + Shift + R on Windows, Cmd + Shift + R on Mac). If it's still missing, contact Dazos support to confirm the update has been applied to your instance.
2. Where to Find the Panel
1. Open any Lead, Referral Source (Account), or Intake Opportunity record from a list view. 2. Look at the right side of the record page for the Activities section.
3. If the section is collapsed, click the Activities header to expand it.
You'll see the familiar + Add Task and + Add Event buttons at the top of the panel, and now — directly below them — two new tabs: Upcoming and History.
3. Switching Between Upcoming and History
The panel always opens on the Upcoming tab. To view past work for the same record:
1. Click the History tab.
2. The list updates in place — no page reload — and the active tab highlights in blue. 3. To go back to pending work, click Upcoming again.
Tab | What it shows | Sort order |
Upcoming | Pending tasks (Not Started, In Progress, Pending Input) and pending events (Planned). Same content as before this update. | Soonest first, by scheduled date |
History | Completed, deferred, and cancelled tasks; held and cancelled events. | Newest first, by date created |
Tip: The tab choice does not stick across page loads. Every time you open or refresh a record, the panel goes back to Upcoming. This is intentional — it keeps records loading fast by not pre-fetching every patient's full history on every page view.
4. What "History" Shows
The History tab includes any task or event on the current record that has been finished or closed:
Activity type | Counted as "History" when status is... |
Task | Completed, Deferred, or Cancelled |
Event / Meeting / Call | Held or Cancelled |
Not shown here — emails appear in the Emails module |
The list shows up to 50 of the most recently created entries at a time, inside a fixed scrollable area — scroll inside the list to see older items. Each entry includes:
Subject — click it to open the activity in a quick-view modal without leaving the record. Activity type icon (task vs. meeting / call) and the date the activity is scheduled for.
Status pill (Completed / Held / Cancelled / Deferred) coloured to match the picklist configured under Settings → Picklist.
If the record has no completed activities yet, the panel shows "No completed activities found" under the History tab. Click Upcoming to return to the original view.
5. Using the Panel with Roll-Up
If the record's panel has a Roll up switch (for example, on an Intake Opportunity), the History tab respects whatever the switch is set to:
Roll-up | What History includes |
Off | Only completed activities directly linked to this record. |
On | Completed activities directly linked to this record and completed activities from related Contacts. |
Important: If you toggle the Roll up switch while you're on the History tab, the panel reloads in Upcoming mode. Click History again to see the rolled-up history list. This matches the default behaviour described in section 3.
6. Frequently Asked Questions
Q: Can I make History the default tab when a record opens? No. The panel always starts on Upcoming on every record load. This is by design — it keeps records loading quickly and avoids running a heavy history query on every page view.
Q: Why don't I see Emails in History? Emails don't carry a "completed" status the way tasks and events do — they're sent or received, not finished. They've always been excluded from the right-side Activities panel and continue to be. Open the Emails module to see email history for a record.
Q: Will completed activities appear here if they were finished by someone whose account was deactivated? Yes. Activities completed by users who are no longer active in your instance still appear under History, attributed to that user. If the user has been fully deleted, the system shows the user's stored name or a placeholder.
Q: I clicked History and it shows the wrong items — what should I do? First, refresh the page (Ctrl + Shift + R / Cmd + Shift + R) to clear any cached version of the panel. Then re-open the record and try the toggle again. If the issue persists, note the record's module and ID and contact Dazos support.
Q: Can I see History across multiple records at once (a global list)? Not from this panel — it's always scoped to the current record. For global lists of completed activities, use the Activities list view and filter by status.
Q: Does switching to History affect my colleagues or other users? No. The toggle is per-user, per record, per-session. Your view of the panel is independent of anyone else's.
Q: Why is the page count limited to 50? 50 is the largest list that loads quickly inside the side panel. The list is scrollable, so all 50 are reachable without needing a "Show More" button. If a record routinely has more than 50 completed activities, open the full Activities related list from the record for unlimited paging.
7. Need Help?
If you run into issues:
1. Confirm you have permission to view the Activities (Calendar) module on the record in question. 2. Try a full browser refresh (Ctrl + Shift + R / Cmd + Shift + R) to clear cached CSS.
3. Note the affected record's module, ID, and which tab is misbehaving, and contact Dazos support with that information and reference CRM-2982.
