Overview
You can now pin up to 3 columns in any CRM list view or report table so they stay locked on the left as you scroll right through wide data sets. Your pinned selections are saved to your account and follow you across browsers and devices.
Before You Begin
Access to any CRM module list view (Leads, Accounts, Contacts, etc.) or a Report in ChartAndDetail view
At least one column already added to the list or report
No special role or admin permission is required
⚠️ Note: The freeze feature is automatically disabled on screens narrower than 1,236 px. If you don't see pin icons, try widening your browser window or use a desktop computer.
Freezing Columns in a List View
Navigate to any module list view (e.g., Leads, Accounts, or Contacts)
Click the column-layout icon (three vertical columns icon, to the left of the search bar) to open the Configure Columns dialog
In the Selected Fields list, click the pin icon (⚑) next to up to 3 fields you want to keep visible while scrolling
Action | What Happens |
Click a grey pin icon | Column becomes frozen — icon turns blue |
Click a blue pin icon | Column is unfrozen — icon returns to grey |
Pin a 4th column | Orange warning appears: limit is 3 columns |
Click Update List to save. The list view reloads with your selections active
Scroll the table horizontally — pinned columns stay fixed on the left while all other columns slide past them
💡 Tip: Your frozen column choices are saved to the database and shared across all browsers and devices. They also survive browser cache clears.
Freezing Columns in a Report
Open any Report in ChartAndDetail view via Reports in the left sidebar
Click the column-layout icon in the top-right toolbar of the report table to open the Freeze / Pin Columns panel
The panel lists all available report columns in two groups:
Column Group | Description |
Left group | Columns currently in the report — click the pin icon to freeze |
Right group | Additional available columns — pin these to also keep them visible |
Click the pin icon next to up to 3 column names. Pinned columns highlight in blue
Click Close (the button updates to Save while you have unsaved changes). The report applies frozen columns immediately
Scroll the report table to the right — pinned columns remain anchored on the left
💡 Tip: Editing a report (changing filters, columns, or sort order via Modify Report) no longer resets your frozen column selections. The system preserves them automatically.
Managing Frozen Columns
Task | How to Do It |
Unfreeze a column | Reopen the Configure Columns or Freeze Columns panel and click the blue pin icon — it turns grey. Save to apply |
Change which columns are frozen | Unpin one column first (limit is 3), then pin a different one |
Freeze columns on a different list or report | Each list view and each report stores its own independent frozen column settings |
Reset all frozen columns | Unpin all blue icons in the panel and save |
⚠️ Important: Frozen columns only display on screens wider than 1,236 px. On smaller screens the table reverts to its natural scrollable layout — your saved preferences are not lost.
Frequently Asked Questions
Q: My frozen columns disappeared after a recent update. What happened?
Previous settings were stored in your browser's local storage. The system has now migrated those preferences to the database. If columns are still missing, reopen Configure Columns and re-pin them — they will then be saved permanently to your account.
Q: Will my frozen columns show up on another computer or browser?
Yes. Frozen column preferences are stored in the database and tied to your user account. Any browser where you are logged in will reflect the same pinned columns.
Q: Can I freeze more than 3 columns?
No. The limit is 3 columns per list view or report. An orange warning banner appears when the maximum is reached. Unpin one column before pinning a new one.
Q: Does freezing columns affect what other users see?
No. Frozen column settings are per-user and per-view. Your choices do not affect any other user's layout.
Q: The freeze icon is missing from my report. Why?
The freeze button only appears in ChartAndDetail report views when the report contains data. If the report shows "No data available," the button is hidden. Switch to a report that returns results.
Q: I edited a report and my frozen columns are still correct. Is that expected?
Yes — this is an improvement in this release. Previously, editing a report would reset frozen column selections. The system now preserves them across report edits.
Q: Does this work on mobile?
The freeze feature is automatically disabled on screens narrower than 1,236 px. Your saved preferences are preserved and will reactivate when you return to a wider screen.
