Freeze Columns in Report Views (CRM)

You can now pin up to 3 columns in any report so they stay visible as you scroll horizontally through wide data tables. Your pin selections are saved automatically per report and remembered the next time you open it.

Before You Start

You will need:

Access to the Reports module in the CRM.

A report that returns data (freeze controls only appear when the report has results).

Access requirements: Any user with permission to view Reports can use the freeze columns feature. No additional role or setting is required.

If you do not see the freeze button described below, try refreshing the page. If it still does not appear, confirm the report has data returned and contact Dazos support referencing CRM-3102.

2. Opening a Report

From the CRM left sidebar, click Reports. Select any report from the list. The report opens in detail view and displays the data table.

At the top of the data table you will see:

A column icon button (grid icon) on the left — this opens the Freeze Columns panel. A Search bar on the right — for filtering visible rows.

The report info card in the top-right shows the report name and total record count.

3. Opening the Freeze Columns Panel

Click the column icon button (grid icon) to the left of the search bar.

A panel slides open listing every column in the report. Each row shows:

Control

Purpose

Number

Column position in the table (left to right)

Column name

The field label as it appears in the report header

Pin icon

Click to freeze or unfreeze that column

An info message at the top of the panel reminds you of the maximum number of columns you can freeze at once (up to 3).

4. Pinning and Unpinning Columns

Click the pin icon on the right side of any row to freeze that column.

A frozen column's row turns blue and the pin icon rotates to indicate it is active. The column header in the report table gains a small thumbtack icon to show it is pinned.

If you try to freeze a 4th column, a warning message appears and the action is blocked.

To unfreeze a column, click its pin icon again. The row returns to its default state and the thumbtack disappears from the table header.

Tip: The panel button label changes from Close to Save as soon as you make a change, so you always know whether your current selection differs from the last saved state.

Limit: You can freeze a maximum of 3 columns at a time per report.

5. Scrolling with Frozen Columns

Once columns are pinned, scroll the report table horizontally. Frozen columns remain fixed on the left while the rest of the table scrolls normally beneath them.

Important: Frozen columns are only active on larger screens (desktop / wide tablet).

On small mobile screens the freeze is automatically suspended so the full table remains readable — your saved selections are preserved and will reapply when you return to a wider screen.

Your freeze selections are saved automatically per report using your browser. They persist across page refreshes and between sessions on the same device and browser.

6. Frequently Asked Questions

Q: How many columns can I freeze at once? You can freeze up to 3 columns per report. If you need to change which columns are pinned, unfreeze one before freezing another.

Q: Are my freeze selections shared with other users? No. Freeze settings are stored in your browser only and are not visible to other users or synced across devices.

Q: What happens if I clear my browser data? Your saved freeze selections will be lost and columns will return to their default (unfrozen) state. Simply re-open the panel and re-pin your preferred columns.

Q: Why don't I see the freeze button on my report? The freeze button only appears when the report returns at least one row of data. If the report is empty (no results match the current filters), the button is hidden.

Q: Do frozen columns affect how the report exports or prints? No. Freeze settings are a display only feature. Exports (CSV, PDF, print) always include all columns in their original order.

Q: Can I freeze columns in any report type? Yes — the feature is available in tabular, summary, and chart-and-detail report views.

Q: The frozen column looks out of place on my screen. What should I do? Try resizing your browser window or zooming out slightly. Freeze is optimized for full-width desktop views. On very narrow windows the feature disables automatically to prevent layout issues.
