You can now pin up to three columns in any list view so they stay fixed on the left while you scroll sideways through the rest of the columns. This keeps key details — like a name or ID — always in view. Your pinned columns are saved to your account, so they follow you across browsers and devices.

1. Before You Start
You will need:
Access to any module list view (for example, Accounts, Leads, or Contacts).
A screen at least ~1236 px wide — on narrower/mobile screens the feature is turned off automatically.
Access requirements: No special permissions are needed. The pin controls appear in the standard Configure Columns window for every list view.
2. Open Configure Columns
Open a list view, then click the Configure Columns icon (the column icon at the top-left of the table). The Configure Columns window opens, showing your Selected Fields on the left and Available Fields on the right.
3. Pin Columns
Each field in the Selected Fields list has a pin icon on the right. Click a pin to freeze that column — the pin turns blue to confirm.

Rules to keep in mind:
You can pin up to 3 columns.
When 3 are pinned, a yellow alert reads: "Maximum of 3 columns are pinned. Unpin a column to select a different one." Unpin one before pinning another.
The row's checkbox/actions column is always kept fixed automatically.
When you're done, click Update List. The list reloads with your columns frozen.
Tip: Pin the columns you scan most often — usually a name or identifier — so they never scroll out of view.

Back on the list, scroll the table sideways. Your pinned columns stay locked to the left edge while the remaining columns slide beneath them. Scroll all the way back to the left and the table returns to its normal layout.
In the example above, First Name, Last Name, and Date of Birth stay pinned (note the pin icons in their headers) while columns further to the right scroll into view.
5. Unpin a Column
To unfreeze a column:
1. Open Configure Columns again.
2. Click the blue pin on the column you want to unfreeze — it turns grey.
3. Click Update List to apply.
6. Frequently Asked Questions
Q: How many columns can I freeze? Up to three. The row's checkbox/actions column is always fixed in addition to your picks.
Q: Do my pinned columns stay after I log out or switch computers? Yes. Your selection is saved to your account, so it's shared across browsers and devices — no need to set it up again.
Q: Why don't I see the freeze option on my phone or a small window? The feature is turned off automatically below about 1236 px wide, where side-scrolling a wide table isn't practical. Widen the window or use a larger screen.
Q: Does freezing columns change my data or the report itself? No. It only changes how the table is displayed for you. Sorting, searching, and the underlying records are unaffected.
Q: The alert says maximum columns are pinned — what do I do? You already have three pinned. Unpin one (click its blue pin) before pinning a different column.
