Overview
Canadian customers using Dazos CRM may need Canadian provinces added to the State picklist in the Treatment Program module for accurate data entry and record-keeping. This article explains how to make that change, what it supports, and its key limitations.
When to Use / Why It Matters
The State field in the Treatment Program module is a required field. By default, it only includes US states. If your organization works with Canadian merchants or facilities, leaving this field blank or selecting an incorrect US state compromises data accuracy and reporting integrity.
Adding Canadian provinces allows your team to select the correct region during data entry — ensuring cleaner records for Canadian clients.
How Canadian Provinces Are Added
The State picklist in the Treatment Program module is a system-level field. It cannot be modified through standard CRM administration tools or field management settings. Adding new values requires a backend database injection performed by the Dazos Specialist Team.
To request this change, contact Dazos Support and provide the list of provinces you need added, along with their abbreviations. The Specialist Team will inject the values into the picklist using the standard format (e.g., Alberta (AB)) to maintain consistency with existing US state entries.
Supported Canadian Provinces and Territories
The following Canadian provinces and territories can be added to the State picklist upon request:
Alberta (AB)
British Columbia (BC)
Manitoba (MB)
New Brunswick (NB)
Newfoundland and Labrador (NL)
Nova Scotia (NS)
Ontario (ON)
Prince Edward Island (PE)
Quebec (QC)
Saskatchewan (SK)
Northwest Territories (NT)
Nunavut (NU)
Yukon (YT)
Critical Limitation: iVerify and Dazos IQ Do Not Support Canadian Provinces
⚠️ Important: Adding Canadian provinces to the State picklist supports data entry and record-keeping only. It does not enable iVerify or Dazos IQ functionality for Canadian locations.
Both iVerify and Dazos IQ are hardcoded to support US insurance policies only. These features will not function for records associated with Canadian provinces or territories, regardless of whether the province appears in the picklist.
Before requesting this change, confirm the following with your team:
The provinces are being added for data entry and record accuracy purposes only.
You are not expecting iVerify to run eligibility checks for Canadian locations.
You are not expecting Dazos IQ or CMD integrations to process data tied to Canadian provinces.
Tips & Notes
💡 Tip: When submitting your request to Dazos Support, provide the full list of province names and their standard two-letter abbreviations to ensure the values are added in the correct format.
✅ Best Practice: Communicate the iVerify and IQ limitation to any Canadian merchants or staff before the change is implemented, so they understand what the picklist update does and does not enable.
⚠️ Note: This is currently a supported data entry accommodation. Full iVerify and IQ support for Canadian provinces is not available at this time. If this is a business-critical need, ask your Customer Success Manager about submitting a feature request.
