Overview
Tracking codes (such as SM) are stored in the Campaign Source field in Dazos CRM — not the Lead Source field. This guide explains how to use your tracking code correctly in reports, and how to optionally add it as a Lead Source picklist value.
Before You Begin
You must have Administrator permissions in your Dazos CRM instance.
Confirm the exact tracking code value you need (e.g., SM). Spelling and capitalisation must match exactly.
If you want the value to populate automatically on lead creation, confirm with your VOIP provider that they are sending the exact matching value in their data payload.
Part 1: Using a Tracking Code in Reports
If your tracking code (e.g., SM) is not appearing when you filter or build columns using Lead Source, it is because the value is stored in the Campaign Source field. You need to update your report to reference the correct field.
Open your report in Dazos CRM (e.g., your Paid Metrics report).
Locate the filter or column currently set to Lead Source.
Change the field from Lead Source to Campaign Source.
Apply a filter for your tracking code value (e.g., SM).
Save and run the report. Your paid metrics data should now populate correctly.
💡 Tip: If you need to report on multiple Campaign Source values, use the Or operator within a single condition rather than adding separate conditions. Adding separate conditions will return zero results due to conflicting logic.
Part 2: Adding a Tracking Code as a Lead Source Picklist Value
If you also want to use your tracking code (e.g., SM) as a selectable option in the Lead Source field, you can add it manually through the picklist settings.
Go to Settings → CRM Settings → Module Management → Picklist Fields and Values.
Select the Leads module.
Find the Lead Source field.
Click Add Value and type your tracking code (e.g., SM).
Click Save.
Once saved, SM will appear as a selectable Lead Source option on any lead record and can be used as a filter in reports.
Automatic Population on Lead Creation
⚠️ Important: For the Lead Source value to populate automatically when a lead comes in, your VOIP provider must send the exact matching value (e.g., SM) in their data payload to Dazos. If the value sent by your VOIP provider does not match the picklist value exactly — including capitalisation — it will not map automatically on lead creation.
Please confirm with your VOIP provider that the tracking source value in their payload matches exactly what you have added to the picklist.
Verification / Expected Result
Reports: After switching to the Campaign Source field, your report should return results for your tracking code (e.g., SM) under paid metrics.
Lead Source Picklist: After adding the value, SM will appear in the Lead Source dropdown on lead records.
Auto-population: New leads from your VOIP provider will automatically show SM in the Lead Source field — provided the payload value matches exactly.
