Overview
If you're trying to see which Intake Opportunity a document belongs to — either from within the document itself or from the Documents module — you may notice there is no field displaying that information. This article explains why that is, and what you can do in the meantime.
Why This Happens
A document in Dazos CRM is not tied to just one Intake Opportunity. The same document can be linked to multiple Intake Opportunities simultaneously. Because of this many-to-one relationship, the system has no single Intake Opportunity name it can reliably display on the document record.
This is intentional system behavior — not a bug. Attempting to add a reference field pointing to the Intake Opportunity on the Documents layout will not work for this reason. The field will appear to save successfully, but the Opportunity name will not populate when the document is opened.
⚠️ Note: The Documents module is also not available as an option under Related Modules in Settings. This is consistent with the design described above.
What This Means in Practice
From within a document, there is no field that shows which Intake Opportunity it belongs to.
From the Documents module (left-hand navigation), there is no way to identify which Intake Opportunity each document is linked to without navigating away.
Reference fields added to the Documents layout that target Intake Opportunity fields will save without error but will not display any value..
Current Workarounds
To get back to the associated Intake Opportunity from within a document, use one of the following methods:
Admissions tab: Navigate to Admissions, then open the relevant Intake Opportunity from there.
Top ribbon navigation: Use the top ribbon within the CRM to navigate back to the Intake Opportunity record directly.
💡 Tip: If your team frequently needs to access the Intake Opportunity from a document, consider building a habit of opening documents directly from within the Intake Opportunity record, rather than from the standalone Documents module. This keeps the opportunity context visible throughout your workflow.
Requesting This as a Feature
If having a visible Intake Opportunity link on the document view is important for your team's workflow, this can be submitted as a feature request for the Dazos product team to consider.
To submit a feature request, contact Dazos Support and describe:
The specific visibility you need (e.g., Opportunity name visible on a document record, or a column in the Documents list view)
How your team would use it and the impact on your workflow
