Understanding User License Upgrade Calculations in Dazos (CRM)

When upgrading your user license count in Dazos CRM, the system includes previously added seats in the total upgrade calculation. This can cause confusion when the upgrade interface shows a higher number than the single user you're trying to add.

When This Occurs

This behavior happens when your account has previously exceeded its original seat count and you're attempting to add additional users. The system treats all seats above your base plan as part of a cumulative upgrade.

How the Calculation Works

Here's how Dazos calculates upgrade totals:

  • Base Plan: Your original subscription includes a specific number of user seats

  • Previous Additions: Any users added beyond the base plan are counted as "upgrade seats"

  • New Upgrade Total: When adding more users, the system shows all upgrade seats (previous + new) as one total

Example Scenario

Let's say your account originally included 15 user seats, and you previously added 2 additional users (bringing your total to 17 active users).

When you try to add 1 more user, the upgrade interface will show "3 seats" because:

  • 2 seats were previously added as upgrades

  • 1 seat is the new user you're adding

  • Total upgrade count: 2 + 1 = 3 seats

⚠️ Important: Adding "3 seats" in this scenario is actually only adding 1 new user to your account.

What This Means for Billing

The upgrade interface shows the cumulative total of all seats above your base plan. You're only being charged for the actual new seats being added, not the entire upgrade total shown.
