Overview
When sending Pre-Admission Assessment (PAA) data to KIPU through an Evaluation Form, it is important to choose the correct CRM field type for each KIPU evaluation item. The field types supported for this mapping differ from standard facesheet field mapping. This article clarifies which CRM field types to use for KIPU checkbox fields, radio button fields, and rating scale fields — and explains why Number Slider fields are not supported.
Note: This article applies specifically to the Send PAA Through Evaluation Form workflow. The mapping happens at the evaluation item level within the KIPU form, not at the facesheet level. To enable this workflow, go to Settings → CRM Settings → Integrations → EMR Settings → KIPU and turn on "Send PAA Through Evaluation Form?"
Key Concepts
Evaluation Form Mapping: PAA fields are mapped to individual evaluation items inside a KIPU Evaluation Form, not to KIPU facesheet fields.
Field Type Matching: The CRM field type you choose must be compatible with the KIPU evaluation item type (checkbox, radio button, text, etc.).
Picklist Value Matching: For radio button and checkbox fields in KIPU, the values in your CRM picklist must match the values configured in KIPU exactly.
How It Works
Mapping CRM Fields to KIPU Checkbox Fields
When a KIPU evaluation form uses a checkbox-type field (allowing multiple selections), use a Multi-Select Combo Box field in the CRM.
A Multi-Select Combo Box allows the user to select multiple options from a list.
This maps to KIPU's checkbox group evaluation items, which are designed to accept multiple selected values.
In KIPU Field Mapping, map the Multi-Select Combo Box CRM field to the corresponding checkbox evaluation item in the KIPU form.
Mapping CRM Fields to KIPU Radio Button Fields
When a KIPU evaluation form uses a radio button field (single selection from a list of options), use a Picklist field in the CRM.
Create a Picklist field in the CRM with values that exactly match each radio button option in the KIPU evaluation form.
Picklist values must match the KIPU values precisely — spelling, capitalization, and spacing must be identical.
Map this Picklist CRM field to the corresponding radio button evaluation item in the KIPU form.
For example, if a KIPU radio button field for severity has options None, Mild, Moderate, and Severe, your CRM Picklist field must contain those same four values.
Number Slider Fields
Number Slider fields in the CRM are not directly supported for KIPU evaluation form mapping. If your use case involves a 0–10 rating scale in KIPU, review the KIPU evaluation item type for that field and select the appropriate CRM field type accordingly (such as a Picklist if KIPU uses radio buttons for the scale).
Important Notes
⚠️ Picklist values must match exactly. Even minor differences between CRM picklist values and KIPU radio button or checkbox values will prevent data from syncing correctly.
⚠️ Number Slider fields are not supported for KIPU evaluation form mapping. Do not use this field type when configuring PAA-to-KIPU evaluation form mappings.
⚠️ This mapping is at the evaluation item level, not the facesheet level. Ensure the "Send PAA Through Evaluation Form?" setting is enabled in Settings → CRM Settings → Integrations → EMR Settings → KIPU before configuring your field mapping.
💡 Tip: Before building your CRM fields, review each evaluation item in your KIPU form and note whether it uses a checkbox group, radio button, or text input. This will determine which CRM field type to create for each item.
