Why Your Google Ads Customer ID Isn't Appearing — and How to Pull Campaigns (CRM)

Problem

When setting up the Google Ads integration in Dazos CRM, a specific Google Ads Customer ID (CID) does not appear in the Customer ID dropdown under CRM Settings → Integrations → Google Ads Settings → Manage Campaigns. This prevents you from selecting the correct account and pulling campaigns into the CRM.

Possible Causes

  • The Google account used to authorize the OAuth connection does not have Admin-level access to the specific Google Ads account. Read-only or standard access is not sufficient — only Admin access allows the Customer ID to be surfaced via Google's API.

  • Admin access was recently granted but the OAuth token in Dazos has not been refreshed to reflect the updated permissions.

  • Google's API can take some time to sync newly granted permissions, so the Customer ID may not appear immediately after access is confirmed.

Solution

  1. Verify Admin access in Google Ads. Sign in to your Google Ads account and navigate to Tools and Settings → Access and Security. Confirm that the email address used to authorize the Dazos integration is listed as an Admin on the specific Google Ads account. If it is listed with a lower permission level (such as Standard or Read Only), update it to Admin before proceeding.

  2. Re-authenticate the connection in Dazos CRM. Once Admin access is confirmed, go to CRM Settings → Integrations → Google Ads Settings and re-authenticate by clicking Continue with Google. This refreshes the OAuth token so Dazos picks up the updated permissions.

  3. Allow time for Google's API to sync. After re-authenticating, fetching Customer IDs relies on Google's API and is not always instant. Wait a few minutes, then return to Manage Campaigns and check whether the expected Customer ID now appears in the dropdown.

  4. Select your Customer ID and find campaigns. Once the correct Customer ID appears, go to CRM Settings → Integrations → Google Ads Settings → Manage Campaigns. Select the Google Ads Account from the first dropdown, then select the Customer ID from the second dropdown. Click Find All Campaigns to retrieve all campaigns associated with that account.

  5. Select campaigns to track and pull them. From the Sync Campaigns List, check the box next to each campaign you want to track. Once at least one campaign is selected, the Pull Campaigns & Spends button will appear at the bottom of the page. Click it to import the selected campaigns into the CRM.

  6. Confirm successful sync. After pulling, check the Sync Status column for each selected campaign. A status of Synced (shown in green) confirms the campaign has been successfully imported. The Last Synced On column should update to reflect the current time.

Important Notes

  • Only campaigns you explicitly select and pull will sync. Unchecked campaigns are skipped entirely and will not receive daily spend updates.

  • Daily spend updates are automatic. Once campaigns are synced, a background job runs once every 24 hours and pulls the previous day's ad spend for all synced campaigns. No manual action is required after the initial pull.

  • Unknown Customer IDs in the dropdown are Google Ads accounts that the authorized Google account has Admin access to. If you see Customer IDs that don't belong to your organization, this indicates the authorizing Google account also has Admin access to other Google Ads accounts.

  • If Last Synced On is older than 48 hours after a campaign has been pulled, this may indicate a stalled sync. Contact Dazos Support if this occurs.
