Overview
Call Log records now include a Last Modified By value that automatically tracks the team member who most recently edited each call log. You can add it as a column or filter when building reports, and use it as a condition in automation workflows — so you can audit and act on call-log activity without any manual tracking.

Frequently Asked Questions
1. Before You Start
You will need:
A CRM account with permission to build Reports and/or Workflows.
Access to the Call Log (Call History) module.
Access requirements: Any user who can create reports or workflows on Call Logs can use this field. It is read-only and populates automatically — there is nothing to turn on per user. The field is made available for your instance by Dazos as part of this update.
⚠️ Note: If you do not see Last Modified By when building a Call Log report or workflow, contact Dazos support to confirm the update has been enabled for your instance.
2. Use Last Modified By in Reports
From the CRM, open Reports and create or edit a report on the Call Log module.
In the column/field selector, search for or scroll to Last Modified By.
Add it as a column to show who last edited each call log.
Optionally add it as a filter condition — for example, “is not empty”, or “is” a specific user.
Run the report. Each row displays the name of the person who most recently edited that call log.
You can... | How |
Show the last editor | Add Last Modified By as a report column |
Filter by editor | Add a condition such as Last Modified By is (user) |
Pair it with a date | Add Last Modified Date/Time, which is already available |
💡 Tip: Last Modified By reflects the most recent edit of any kind — so if a record was updated after creation, it shows the latest editor, not the original creator.
3. Use Last Modified By in Workflows
Open Workflows and create a new workflow with Call Log as the target module.
In the condition builder, choose Last Modified By as the condition field.
Set your condition — for example, “is not empty”, or “is” a specific user.
Add the action you want (such as updating a field or sending a notification).
Save and Activate the workflow.
The workflow now evaluates who last modified a call log each time one is saved, and runs your action when the condition matches.
⚠️ Important: Call Log automations have some platform limits (for example, certain task-creation actions). Using Last Modified By as a condition works normally and is not affected by those limits.
4. What the Field Shows
Behavior | What to expect |
Updates automatically | The value is set on every save — whether a person edits the record or a workflow updates it. |
Read-only | It cannot be typed in or overwritten by hand; it is system-managed. |
VOIP / phone integrations | For call logs created or updated automatically by a phone integration, the value shows the integration's system user (the account that processed the call), which may differ from the call's assigned owner. |
💡 Tip: If you need both who and when, pair Last Modified By with Last Modified Date/Time — both are available on the Call Log module.
5. Frequently Asked Questions
Q: Can I edit “Last Modified By” by hand? No. It is read-only and is set automatically every time a call log is saved.
Q: Does it update when an automation (workflow) changes a call log? Yes. Any save updates it, including changes made by a workflow action — in that case it reflects the user the workflow ran as.
Q: Why does it show a system or integration user on some records? Those call logs were created or updated by a phone/VOIP integration, so the value reflects the account that processed the call rather than a person.
Q: Can I group, filter, or sort a report by this field? Yes. Add it as a column and/or as a filter condition in the Report Builder.
Q: Is there a matching date field? Yes. Last Modified Date/Time is already available on the Call Log module and can be added alongside it.
Q: I don't see “Last Modified By” in the picker — what should I do? Confirm you have Reports/Workflows permissions for Call Logs, then contact Dazos support to verify the update is enabled for your instance.
