How to Add Demographic Tokens to iCampaign Templates (iCampaign)

This guide explains how to add demographic tokens (such as first name and last name) to your iCampaign templates. Adding tokens allows you to personalize your campaigns with dynamic content that automatically populates with client information.

Before You Begin

  • Ensure you have access to the Dazos iCampaign platform

  • You must have permission to edit campaigns and templates

  • Make sure your campaign template is unlocked for editing

Steps

There are three ways to add tokens to your iCampaign templates. For basic demographic information like first and last names, the first two methods are recommended:

Method 1: Add an Element in Edit Content

  1. Navigate to your iCampaign and select the template you want to edit

  2. Click Edit to open the campaign builder

  3. In the template editor, click Add Element where you want to insert the token

  4. Select the demographic token you want to add (such as first_name or last_name)

  5. Place the token in your desired location within the template

Method 2: Double-click a Title in Edit Content

  1. Open your template in the campaign editor

  2. Double-click on any title or text block within the Edit Content section

  3. This will open the text editor, where you can insert tokens

  4. Click the token insertion icon in the text editor

  5. Select the demographic token you need (such as last_name or first_name)

Method 3: Custom Tokens (For Advanced Users)

For custom tokens beyond basic demographic information:

  1. Navigate to Settings > Click Company

  2. Select Custom Tokens for Templates

  3. Click Add another token to create custom content

Verification / Expected Result

After adding tokens to your template, they will appear as placeholder text in the editor. When the campaign is sent, these tokens will automatically populate with the actual demographic information from your client records.

💡 Tip: For basic demographic information like first and last names, using Methods 1 and 2 is faster and more efficient than creating custom tokens.

Troubleshooting / Common Errors

  • Token not appearing: Refresh the campaign editor or reopen the template after making changes

  • Cannot edit template: Ensure the campaign is set to "Unlocked" status

  • Token not populating: Verify that the demographic information exists in the client record
