What Information Gets Sent
When you push a patient to Navix, the integration automatically sends:
Patient demographics: Name, date of birth, gender, address, phone numbers, email, and emergency contacts
Insurance coverage: Policy details including payor, member ID, group number, and plan information (when available)
Admission details: Type, dates, location, and reason for admission (when available)
Referring physician: Name and details (when available)
Setting Up the Integration
Before you can start using this integration, you'll need to obtain credentials from Navix support:
API Key: A unique identifier for your organization
HMAC Secret: Used to secure your data transmissions
Environment preference: Choose Sandbox for testing or Production for live use
Important: Navix only provides these credentials once. Store them securely as they cannot be retrieved again if lost.
Once you have your credentials, contact your Dazos administrator to configure the integration in your Settings page.
How to Send a Patient to Navix
Open any Intake Opportunity in Dazos
Look for the Create Patient in Navix button
Click the button to send the patient information
Watch for a confirmation message showing the patient was created and their Medical Record (MR) number
Understanding the Results
After sending a patient to Navix, you'll see one of these messages:
"Patient created": This is the first time sending this patient to Navix
"Patient updated": You've sent this patient before, and Navix updated their existing record
The message will also include the patient's MR number assigned by Navix (for example: NVX26-2026-5647).
Working with Multiple Environments
You can connect to both Sandbox and Production environments simultaneously. This allows you to:
Test changes in Sandbox without affecting live patient data
Use Production for actual patient transfers
Switch between environments as needed
Important Limitations
This integration has some important limitations to be aware of:
One-way data flow: You can only send data TO Navix, not retrieve data FROM Navix
Manual process: You must manually click the button to send each patient - there's no automatic synchronization
No updates from EMR: Changes made in your EMR system won't automatically update back to Dazos
Handling Repeat Admissions
When the same patient has multiple Intake Opportunities (such as readmissions), the integration handles this correctly:
The patient keeps the same MR number in Navix
Each admission creates a separate encounter record
No duplicate patient records are created
Getting Help
If you encounter issues with the integration:
Contact your Dazos administrator first for setup and configuration questions
For questions about what happens to data after it reaches Navix, contact Navix support directly
Your administrator can review detailed logs to help troubleshoot specific transmission issues
