CRM Bedboard vs EMR Bedboard: You Can Only Use One at a Time (CRM)

Overview Dazos CRM supports two bedboard sources: an EMR-synced bedboard (e.g., imported from KIPU) and a native CRM bedboard managed directly in Dazos. However, these two sources cannot run simultaneously.

⚠️ Important: It is not possible to add CRM-managed beds separately alongside beds already synced from the EMR. You must choose one source or the other.

When This Matters

This limitation applies when you want to:

  • Manage beds directly in the CRM instead of importing them from your EMR

  • Switch from EMR-synced bedboards to CRM-managed bedboards

  • Understand why you cannot maintain both bedboard sources at the same time

How the Bedboard Setting Works

The bedboard source is controlled by a single picklist setting located at:

Settings → CRM Settings → Integration → EMR Settings → Bedboard Settings

The picklist has two options:

  • EHR Bedboard — Beds are imported and synced from your connected EMR (e.g., KIPU). The CRM pulls bed data directly from the EMR.

  • CRM Bedboard — Beds are managed manually and directly inside Dazos CRM. No EMR sync occurs for bedboards.

Because this is a single picklist selector, only one option can be active at a time. Selecting one automatically deactivates the other.

How to Switch to the CRM Bedboard

If you want to manage beds in the CRM instead of using the EMR-synced bedboard, follow these steps:

  1. Navigate to Settings in the main left-hand menu.

  2. Click on CRM Settings.

  3. Open the Integration dropdown menu.

  4. Click on EMR Settings.

  5. Locate the Bedboard Settings section and open the picklist.

  6. Select CRM Bedboard from the picklist options.

  7. Click Submit to save your changes.

Once saved, the CRM will no longer import beds from the EMR. You can now add and manage beds directly within the Dazos CRM Bedboards module.

Tips & Notes

💡 Tip: If your EMR is Lightning Step, bedboard import from the EMR is not supported regardless of this setting. Beds must always be managed manually in the CRM for Lightning Step integrations.

⚠️ Warning: Switching from the EHR Bedboard to the CRM Bedboard means your beds will no longer sync automatically from the EMR. Make sure your team is prepared to manage bed assignments directly in Dazos before making this change.

Best Practice: Confirm your preferred bedboard source with your administrator before switching, as this setting affects all users in your CRM instance.
