Overview
The Dazos integration with Medical Mime transfers intake records using SFTP with HL7 flat files. This means there is no real-time API connection between Dazos and Medical Mime — records are transferred either manually on demand or through a scheduled automated sync.
Understanding how this integration works will help you know what to expect when pushing records and what to do when a time-sensitive admit requires immediate transfer.
How the Integration Works
The Medical Mime integration is built on SFTP file transfers using HL7 flat files. This architecture means:
There is no live API connection between Dazos and Medical Mime.
Records are packaged into files and transferred on a schedule.
The timing of when a record appears in Medical Mime depends on both Dazos's transfer schedule and Medical Mime's own file processing schedule.
⚠️ Important: Because this is a file-based integration and not a real-time API, there will always be some delay between a record being created or updated in Dazos and it appearing in Medical Mime — unless a manual push is used.
Automated Sync Frequency
The automated sync between Dazos and Medical Mime runs on a background scheduler. As of the most recent update, the Medical Mime Opportunity Update scheduler is set to active and runs automatically every 15 minutes.
⚠️ Note: The sync frequency cannot be adjusted from within your account settings. It is tied to how the SFTP transfer is architected and is managed at the system level.
How to Manually Push a Record to Medical Mime
For time-sensitive admits that cannot wait for the next automated sync, you can push any individual intake record to Medical Mime immediately using the manual push button.
Open the Intake Opportunity record in Dazos CRM.
Locate the push button on the intake record.
Click the push button to send the record to Medical Mime immediately.
💡 Tip: The manual push sends the record right away, without waiting for the next scheduled file transfer. Use this method for any same-day admissions or last-minute changes where timing is critical.
When to Use the Manual Push
Same-day or last-minute admissions where floor staff need the record in Medical Mime immediately.
Any time a record update is urgent and cannot wait for the next automated sync window.
During testing and rollout phases, to verify that records are transferring correctly.
Tips & Notes
✅ Best Practice: For day-to-day operations, the automated 15-minute sync handles most transfers without any manual action needed. Reserve the manual push for time-sensitive situations.
⚠️ Remember: Even after a manual push from Dazos, the record still needs to be processed by Medical Mime on their end. If a record is not appearing in Medical Mime after a manual push, check with your Medical Mime team to confirm their file processing is functioning as expected.
