Overview
Dazos IQ can now fill a brand-new instance with ready-made sample facilities — complete with claims, payments, patients, account-receivable balances, and notes — at the click of a button. This gives you realistic-looking data to explore the product, train your team, and run demos, without entering anything by hand. A second button removes all of that sample data just as easily when you're done.
Before You Begin
You'll need:
Access to Dazos IQ with permission to manage Facilities.
A new instance — one that has only a single facility and no claims loaded yet.
Access requirements: The Import Demo Data button only appears on a fresh instance. As soon as you add a second facility of your own, or any claims have been loaded, the button disappears automatically — this is intentional, so demo data can never get mixed in with your real data.
⚠️ If you expected to see the button but it isn't there, the instance has likely already started using real data. In that case demo data import is no longer offered. Reach out to Dazos support if you have questions about your instance's state.
Steps
1. Open the Facilities Page
From the main menu in Dazos IQ, open Facilities (Facility Management). You'll see your facility list with a New Facility button at the top.
On a fresh instance, an Import Demo Data button appears next to it.
2. Import Demo Data
Click Import Demo Data.
A confirmation message appears explaining that sample facilities with claims, payments, patients, AR aging, and notes will be created. Click OK to continue.
After a moment, a green confirmation banner appears and the sample facilities show up in your facility list.
💡 Tip: Once the demo data is in place, the Import Demo Data button is replaced by a red Remove Demo Data button, so you always know whether sample data is currently loaded.
What Gets Created
The import adds three sample facilities and the supporting records around them. Everything is clearly fictional — sample names, 555-01xx phone numbers, and example.com email addresses.

Each facility comes with:
Data | Purpose |
Patients | Sample patient records tied to the facility |
Claims & Payments | Example billing activity at various stages (submitted, partially paid, paid, patient balance) |
AR Aging | Accounts-receivable balances by payer, so the financial dashboards have something to show |
Contacts | Sample people associated with each facility |
Notes | Example claim notes describing the billing activity |
Important: All demo dates are set relative to the day you import, so the sample data always looks recent and realistic — no matter when you load it.
Remove Demo Data
When you're finished with the sample data:
Go to Facilities.
Click Remove Demo Data.
Confirm when prompted.
All of the imported sample facilities and their related claims, payments, patients, balances, contacts, and notes are permanently deleted. Your own data is never affected — only the records created by the import are removed.
After removal, if the instance is still fresh (a single facility and no claims), the Import Demo Data button returns, so you can load the sample data again later if needed.
