Problem
When an event has more than one Referral Source tagged in the Related To field, any report on events that includes the Referral Sources related module will display that event once for each tagged Referral Source, inflating the total event count in the report.
For example, if a single event has 3 Referral Sources tagged in the Related To field, the report will show that event 3 times, each row with the same name, date, and time. The duplication scales directly with the number of tagged Referral Sources: 2 tagged = 2 rows, 5 tagged = 5 rows, and so on.
Note: This is a known issue that has been escalated to the Dazos development team. A workaround is available in the meantime.
Possible Causes
The report includes the Referral Sources related module as a column or filter.
One or more events in the report have multiple Referral Sources tagged in the Related To field.
The report is joining event records to Referral Source records, producing one row per relationship rather than one row per event.
Solution
Open the affected report in the Reports module.
Edit the report by clicking the Edit button or gear icon.
Locate the Referral Sources related module in the report's column or related module configuration (the Select Related Modules field on the report's edit screen).
Remove the Referral Sources related module from the report. This eliminates the one row per Referral Source behavior that causes the duplicated rows.
Save the report and run it again.
Verify the event count is now accurate. Each event should appear only once in the report results.
⚠️ Important: Removing the Referral Sources related module from the report resolves the duplicate rows, but it also means Referral Source data will no longer appear as columns in that report. This is a temporary workaround while the underlying issue is being addressed by the development team.
