What the integration does for you
Dazos connects your admissions work in the CRM to Navix, so nobody types the same patient twice. Your admissions team keeps working in Dazos. When a patient is ready, one click creates the patient in Navix with their details, contacts, insurance and admission information already filled in.
Dazos sends to Navix | Navix sends back to Dazos |
A new patient record, with name, date of birth, gender, phone numbers, email and mailing address | The patient's Navix MR Number, as soon as the patient is sent |
Family and emergency contacts, with their relationship to the patient
Every active insurance policy, including member ID and policyholder
Admission date, discharge date, admission type and Treatment Program
Updated details whenever you send the patient again |
The result: less double entry, fewer typos, and a clear record in Dazos of which patients are already in Navix.
Highlights
New this release: the Navix integration.
One-click patient creation. Send a patient from their Intake Opportunity to Navix in one step, with demographics, contacts, insurance and admission details included.
One patient identity. Dazos sends the same patient identifier on every send, so a resend refers to the patient Navix already has.
MR Number comes straight back. Navix's MR Number is saved on the Intake Opportunity the moment the send succeeds.
Several Navix accounts, routed for you. Each Treatment Program can be tied to its own Navix account, and patients go to the right one automatically.
Safe testing first. Connect to Navix's Sandbox before switching to Production.
Day to day for your admissions team
Sending a patient to Navix is always a deliberate step your team takes from inside Dazos.
1. Send the patient to Navix
Open the Intake Opportunity, click ⋯ (More), and choose Create Patient in Navix.
If the patient has already been sent, Dazos asks "Are you sure you want to send it again?" first. When the send works, Dazos shows a message such as "Patient created in Navix EMR. Patient ID (MR No): …". The MR Number is filled in on the Intake Opportunity, and a Linked EMR Record box shows the patient's Navix details.
2. What goes over
In one send, Dazos includes:
The patient: first and last name, date of birth, gender, home, mobile and secondary phone, email and mailing address.
Family and emergency contacts: name, phone numbers, email and their relationship to the patient (for example Mother, Spouse or Emergency Contact).
Insurance: each active policy on the patient's Account, with the insurance company, member ID and policyholder name. When the policyholder isn't the patient, their date of birth and gender go too.
Admission details: admission date, discharge date, admission type and Treatment Program, whenever any of these are filled in.
Your administrator can adjust which Dazos fields fill which Navix fields.
3. Keep details current
Changes you make in Dazos aren't sent on their own. When something changes, such as a new phone number or a new insurance policy, choose Create Patient in Navix again. Navix recognizes the same patient and updates them, and the message says "Patient updated in Navix EMR".
What comes back from Navix
Navix accepts patients from Dazos but doesn't currently offer a way for Dazos to read patient information back. So admissions, discharges and level-of-care changes made in Navix don't flow back into Dazos. Keep updating those in Dazos as you do today.
What Dazos does keep for you:
What updates in Dazos | What it shows | When |
MR Number | The MR Number Navix assigns to the patient | Each time the patient is sent |
Linked EMR Record box | The Navix MR Number, name, date of birth, level of care, location and when the patient was last sent | Each time the patient is sent |
Because nothing is pulled from Navix, the Linked EMR Record box doesn't offer a "Pull Updates from EMR" button for Navix patients.
Getting started: what we need from you
Your Customer Success Manager, Implementation Specialist and the Dazos Technical Services team handle the setup with you. Gathering these items ahead of time speeds it up.
The Navix API Key and HMAC Secret for each Navix account
Whether each account is Sandbox or Production
If you have more than one Navix account, which Treatment Programs go to which account
Which staff roles may send patients to Navix
Any Dazos fields you want sent to Navix beyond the standard set, such as group number, plan name or referring physician
During setup, your administrator opens the Navix EMR tab in EMR Settings, enters these details, clicks Save, then Test FHIR Connection. The first successful test fills in a standard set of field matches, which you can review under Field Mappings. Under Reference data & Mappings, Sync from Navix EMR brings in your Navix Locations so each one can be matched to a Treatment Program.
We recommend testing in Navix's Sandbox first, then switching the account to Production at go-live.
Common questions
Does anything come back from Navix automatically?
Only the MR Number, right after each send. Navix doesn't currently share admissions, discharges or other changes back.
We changed a phone number in Dazos. Does Navix update on its own?
No. Choose Create Patient in Navix again and Navix updates the same patient.
Will sending again create a duplicate?
Dazos sends the same patient identifier each time, so Navix can match the resend to the existing patient. Dazos asks you to confirm before resending.
Are documents, assessments or tasks sent?
No. This integration sends patient details, contacts, insurance and admission information only.
Can we have several Navix accounts?
Yes. Each account is connected separately. Patients go to the account matched to their Treatment Program, or to the first connected account if there's no match.
Can we test without touching real patients?
Yes. Connect a Sandbox account first, then switch to Production at go-live.
Where can my administrator see what was sent?
The Sync Status button on the Navix EMR tab lists recent sends, with the time, whether each one worked and any error message.
I can't see Create Patient in Navix.
Your role may not have the Push to EMR permission, or the Navix account may not be connected yet. Ask your administrator.
