Overview
Certain patient fields must be complete before pushing to KIPU EMR, or the push will fail.
Why It Matters
KIPU requires a minimum set of patient data to create a valid record in its system. If required fields are missing or unmapped, the patient will not be admitted into KIPU, and your team will need to correct the record and attempt the push again.
This applies whenever you initiate a patient push from an Intake Opportunity in Dazos CRM to KIPU EMR.
Required Fields
Before pushing a patient to KIPU, confirm that all of the following fields are populated on the patient record:
First Name and Last Name
Date of Birth (DOB)
Admission Date
Treatment Program
Payment Method
Insurance information (if applicable), including:
Insurance Company
Policy Number
Subscriber details (First Name, Last Name, Date of Birth, and Relationship)
⚠️ Warning: The Treatment Program field is the most common cause of push failures. Always verify it is selected and correctly mapped before initiating a push to KIPU.
After a Successful Push
Once the patient record is pushed successfully, the patient will appear in the Incoming queue inside KIPU EMR. A staff member with the appropriate permissions in KIPU must then accept the client from the Incoming section to complete the admission process.
💡 Tip: If you receive a push error, review each required field on the Intake Opportunity record in Dazos and confirm nothing is blank before trying again.
Tips & Notes
✅ Best Practice: Always review the full patient record against this checklist before initiating a push to KIPU — especially when testing the integration with a new patient.
⚠️ If your Treatment Program is populated but the error persists, the program may not be mapped between Dazos and KIPU. Contact Dazos Support to have the mapping configured on the backend.
💡 Insurance fields are only required if the patient's Payment Method involves insurance. If the patient is self-pay, insurance fields may not be needed — but Payment Method must still be selected.
