Overview
This guide helps you resolve two related bedboard issues when using the KIPU EMR integration with Dazos: the number of occupied beds in Dazos not matching KIPU, and bedboard entries displaying without patient names.
Both issues share the same root cause and can typically be resolved by refreshing the bedboard data and ensuring KIPU census records are properly aligned with intake opportunities in the Dazos CRM.
Symptoms
The number of occupied beds shown in Dazos does not match the number of occupied beds in KIPU.
Bedboard entries are visible but display without a patient first or last name.
Cause
These issues occur when KIPU census data cannot be matched to a corresponding intake opportunity in the Dazos CRM. When the system cannot find a matching record, it is unable to display the patient's name alongside the bed entry.
In addition, if the bedboard data has not been recently refreshed from the integration, the bed counts shown in Dazos may be out of sync with the current state in KIPU.
Solution
Step 1: Refresh the Bedboard Data
The first step is to trigger a refresh of the bedboard information directly from the integration settings. This pulls the latest census data from KIPU and updates the bed counts displayed in Dazos.
Navigate to your integration settings in Dazos and initiate a refresh of the bedboard data. After the refresh completes, check whether the bed counts are now aligned between Dazos and KIPU.
Step 2: Align KIPU Census Records with CRM Intake Opportunities
If patient names are still missing after the refresh, the underlying cause is a mismatch between KIPU census records and intake opportunities in the Dazos CRM.
To resolve this, ensure that each patient currently in census in KIPU has a corresponding intake opportunity in the CRM. When both records exist and can be matched, Dazos will display the patient's name correctly on the bedboard.
Review current census patients in KIPU.
Confirm that each patient has a matching intake opportunity in the Dazos CRM.
Create or update intake opportunities as needed so the system can perform an accurate match.
Verification / Expected Result
After refreshing the bedboard data and aligning census records with CRM intake opportunities, you should see:
Bed counts in Dazos that match the occupied beds shown in KIPU.
Patient first and last names displayed correctly on all bedboard entries.

Contact Dazos Support if:
The bed counts remain mismatched after refreshing the bedboard data from integration settings.
Patient names are still missing after confirming that intake opportunities exist and are aligned with KIPU census records.
You are unsure how to locate the bedboard refresh option in your integration settings.
You need assistance investigating a specific patient record or reviewing the KIPU data payload.
⚠️ Note: When contacting support, it may be helpful to provide a KIPU profile with access for the Dazos integrations team (using the email [email protected]) so the team can review the bedboard data directly and identify the root cause of any remaining mismatch.
